Pelham Manor officials have alerted residents that another event is scheduled at Hutchinson Field in Mt. Vernon this Sunday, July 21.
The alert said:
Another event in Mount Vernon at the Hutchinson Field is scheduled for this coming Sunday the 21st from 2 PM until 10 PM. Since last weekends event, the Village Manager and Police Chief have met with the Deputy Commissioner of Recreation and the Village Manager has spoken directly with the Commissioner of Recreation regarding the unacceptable noise levels from that event and measures to be taken to prevent its re-occurrence.
The Mount Vernon officials informed the Village that the excessive noise was caused by incorrectly positioned stage and speakers, along with exceedance of the permitted decibel level. These parameters were not in compliance with those previously agreed upon between the Village and the City.
The Commissioner of Recreation assured the Village that this weekend’s event will be properly set up with the stage and speakers facing in a westerly direction, away from Pelham Manor, and that the decibel level, at the stage, will not exceed 90dB. This is in accordance with our agreement and is the arrangement used by the event 2 weekends ago.
The Village will be permitted to inspect the stage and speaker set up prior to the event start.
If you experience loud noise from this event, please call the Pelham Manor Police Department at 738-1000 and register your complaint.
