The National Weather Service has issued a weather alert for a heat wave  through the weekend. Friday and Saturday max heat indices of 100-105 F are expected in our area. The heat and humidity causes potential hazards and may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure. Extreme heat can cause illness and death among our at-risk population who cannot stay cool. Seniors, infants, and those with chronic health problems or mental health conditions are at an increased risk from the heat. Please remember to stay hydrated and check on vulnerable family, friends and neighbors to make sure they stay safe and cool.
