Woods Johnson, a 2018 PMHS graduate, was presented with his Eagle Scout rank at a ceremony on June 7. A member of Troop 11 New Rochelle, he has just finished his first year at Texas A& M and is an Air Force cadet.

For his Eagle Scout project, Woods assembled a team of volunteers in the spring of 2018 and worked on Pelham's Highbrook Highline to clear the bridge span of overgrowth and covered the area with wood chips. They built raised planting beds, benches, a compost area and a frame that holds potted plants. He coordinated donations of plants and soil for the flowerbeds.

The Village of Pelham plans to install a fence before the area is open to the public.
