The Picture House R will host the Westchester premiere advance screening of "A Hidden Life"(PG-13; 180 mins.) on Thursday, December 5th at 7:30 p.m..

Based on real events, from visionary writer-director Terrence Malick, A Hidden Life starring August Diehl and Valerie Pachner, is the story of an unsung hero, Franz Jägerstätter, who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. When the Austrian peasant farmer is faced with the threat of execution for treason, it is his unwavering faith and his love for his wife Fani and children that keeps his spirit alive.

Malick is a three time Academy Award nominee who is best known for his films The Thin Red Line and The Tree of Life.

The film had its world premiere this year at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival where it won the Francois Chalais Award and opens nationwide on Friday, December 13th.
