Recently a magazine labeled Pelham as one of the most haunted places in New York. Town of Pelham Historian Blake Bell certainly agrees and he has collected those Pelham ghost stories in a book to be published next summer.
Blake will come to The Manor Club on Monday, January 13 at 7:30pm to share some of those ghost stories—yes, including one of the ghosts of The Manor Club.
More than forty Pelham ghost stories have been referenced in print and passed from generation-to-generation for nearly two hundred years. Blake has tentatively entitled his book “A Haunted History of Pelham, New York,” and it will book will aggregate the stories into categories that appear within “sections.” Each section will begin with carefully-documented historical context as background to the stories. For example, the section on “Native American Hauntings” will include four chapters, each devoted to a different Native American Pelham ghost story. The introduction to the section will provide documented and end-noted Native American history in the Pelham region before proceeding to the four chapters. Blake will combine a reading of one brief chapter with a presentation that relates several additional Pelham ghost stories.
RSVP to Blake Bell's ghost stories talk by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Admission is free to TMC members, $10 for guests and $15 for non members. Financial proceeds go to the historic 100- yea-old Manor Club building fund.
