The Pelham Jewish Center hosted this year's Pelham Interfaith Thanksgiving Service n Sunday afternoon, Nov. 24, bringing togehter community members of all faiths.
A Musical Welcome was played on the flute by Amy Hersh of the PJC followed by a welcome by PJC President Michael Dvorkin.
Scriptural readings during the service included Psalm 9 by Rev. Robert DeJulio of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church-St. Catharine's (Roman Catholic), a poem read by Rev. Dr. Paul Seeman of Huguenot Memorial Church (Presbyterian), a Litany of Thanksgiving by Rev. Matthew Mead of Church of Christ the Redeemer (Episcopal), a Gospel reading by Father Oliver Offor of St. Catharine's (Roman Catholic), and Psalm 107 by the Rev. Noel Vanek of Community Church of the Pelhams (United Church of Christ).
PJC Rabbi Alex Salzberg gave the homily following a Torah Reading and brief service by members of the PJC.
Before concluding the service with everyone singin "America the Beautiful," The Rev. Vanek gave a "tribute" to Maggie Klein, presenting her with a bouquet of flower and thanking her for working with others to revitalize the Pelham Interfaith Council over the past several years.
