The Junior League of Pelham's plans to Revitalize Julianne's Park were the topic of the Rotary Club of the Pelhams meeting on Nov. 13.

JLP President Lisa Horten and Project Chair Lisa Hill-Ries, who is also a Pelham Village Trustee, described current plans to seek grants and raise funds for the major project. The children's playground equipment would be replaced and additional features for teens would be added.

Ms. Hill-Ries said initial estimates are that the cost could be $1 million but revisions of the plans are possible that would bring down the cost.

The project would not begin until after the new Hutchinson School is built and the park is no longer needed for recess by Hutchinson students. The Pelham School District owns and maintains the park, which also includes a basketball court and two tennis courts supervised by the Pelham Recreation Department.

Julianne's Park is located on Third Avenue/Fourth Avenue at Fifth Street in the Village of Pelham.
