"The Golden Girls" with Sophia joining a convent brought raucous laughter in yet another amateur theatrical production to The Manor Club Theatre with local talent in starring roles. Day and evening performances were on October 28th.
Claire Nappi, as Sophia, commanded the stage from her first entrance where she told why she was joining a convent (to replace a friend who was a nun and had died). She was the strong centerpiece of almost every scene.
Supporting her were Ann Rende (Dorothy), Elena Barnabei (Blanche) and Kathi Mangan (Rose), A sub plot had Blanche exploring a way to get the driver of a car she hit into her bed (It was Rose's car.) Richard Pizzarello was the driver.
An ensemble of nuns also added to the comedic fun: Diane Pizzarello, Jean Ostlund, Barbara Albert and Marian Moore.
Loretta Illustrato was Director.
