Pelham Manor Police announced that officers arrested Rick J. Scocozza,55 of the Bronx while he was attempting to burglarize a house on Jackson Avenue about 7:00pm last evening (August 22) while the home was occupied.

He was charged with two counts of burglary in the first degree, two counts of robbery in the first degree and two counts of kidnapping in the second degree.

Police said the suspect gained access to the home through an unlocked garage door and showed what appeared to be a firearm. The kidnapping charge is based on the suspect exercising control over another. Police were notified that the burglary was in progress by a neighbor who received a call from the house.

Police emphasized that this was an "isolated incident."
