Superintendent of Schools Dr. Cheryl Champ gave the Pelham Village Board of Trustees an update on site preparation plans for the new Hutchinson School at the Board's meeting Tuesday, May 14, noting that another community meeting on the school plans is tentatively set for June 3.

She said staging work for construction will begin on the site during the last week of classes when student have only half days. She said the rock removal will begin the week thereafter with the completion date targeted for the start of school in September. Rock removal work will be done during 7 AM  and 6 PM although the possibility for negotiation of additional work hours has been left open if weather or other issues arise. School officials are meeting with Vilage officials to determine where off site that school staff members will be allowed to park when school is in session during construction.

Dr. Champ said work on the Lincoln Avenue bridge across the Hutchinson River Parkway is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2020 after the bulk of off site traffic from the new Hutchinson School will have been completed.
