The Pelham Board of Education has been presented with a proposal to name the current turf multipurpose field at the Glover Complex in honor of the late Anthony Senerchia Jr. and is seeking input from the Pelham community at its meeting at 8:15 pm on Tuesday, April 9 in the Middle School Library.

Mr. Senerchia, who passed away in 2017 after battling ALS, graduated from PMHS and was a long-time volunteer coach in the community. Mr. Senerchia and his family helped inspire the "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge," a nation-wide phenomenon which resulted in millions of dollars in donations for research to combat the disease.

Anyone interested in commenting on the proposal is welcome to share the opinion during the public comment portion of the April 9 meeting or submit an email to the Board of Education at boe@pelhamschools.org. The Board will review all feedback and may consider acting on the proposal at its April 23 meeting.
