On three days last week, there were 40 truckloads of rock removed a day from the site of the construction of the new Hutchinson School, Assistant Superintendent of Schools for Business James Hricay told the Pelham Board of Education at its meeting Monday, July 15.

All the trucks exited on to Lincoln Avenue and the work went smoothly, he said. The contractor has two flag persons to direct traffic as the trucks head to Mt Vernon or to New Rochelle (and return). There is also a worker who sweeps the road of dirt.

Mr.Hricay said the contractor has also installed a sprinkler system around the perimeter of the construction site, and the sprinklers go on sequentially to offset dirt. He said there is also a worker with a hose to put water on areas missed by the sprinklers.
