Kellie Jean Alvarez (nee Smith) died tragically on October 22, 2019, in San Francisco, after a decades-long struggle with addiction. She is finally at peace. She was 45 years old
Born in White Plains on November 19, 1973, she grew up in Pelham, and graduated from Pelham Memorial High School in 1991.
Kellie is survived by her mother, Corrine Smith of Mount Vernon; her adult son, Aidan Ekelund of White Plains; her young daughter, Arabella Alvarez; her sister and brother-in-law, Tracey and Richard Shapiro; and their children, Zach and Annalee, all of Coral Springs, FL. Kellie also leaves behind her beloved canine companion, Bailey, and many dear friends. Kellie was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Smith, in 1985; by her partner, John Ekelund, in 1997; and by her husband, Robert Alvarez, in 2018.
A private memorial service will be held.
