Nancy M. Lepre of Pelham Manor died September 23. She was 60 years old.

Ms. Lepre was born November 8, 1958, in Manhattan, to Joyce and Henry Messman. After earning an MBA in Marketing, she went on to become the Founder and President of both Abracadabra Painting Company and Avante Contracting Corporation.

She was a powerful advocate for the preservation of affordable housing, as well as for the participation of Women Business Enterprises in the construction and development of affordable housing. She had lobbied at the New York State Legislature and at the New York City Council.

Ms.Lepre had received multiple awards for her service and leadership, including the Great Business Award from The Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle, the Women of Excellence award from the New York City Women’s Chamber of Commerce, and The George Calvert Community Service Award from HOPE Community Inc.

Known for her warmth, style and beauty, fierce loyalty, generosity of spirit, candor, and seemingly endless energy, Nancy was a beloved member of her community in Pelham, where she lived for over 30 years. She is survived by her husband, Robert Lepre Sr.; son, Robert; daughter, Laura; and sister, Laurie Fugazy.

A celebration of her life will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, September 28, at New York Athletic Club, 31 Shore Rd in Pelham, NY.
