Angela Russo Fasano, a life long resident of Pelham, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2019. She was 93 years old.
Angela was born on June 25, 1926 in Peekskill, NY. She was the beloved daughter of Candida and Gaspar Russo, and dear sister of Peter Russo, all who predeceased her. She graduated in 1945 from Hendrick Hudson High School and had fond memories of her days as drum majorette leading the high school band past her family home on Washington Street in Peekskill. Angela worked for many years as a benefits representative at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
It was as a member and eventual President of the Pelham Women's Club for many years that she found her true calling for volunteerism and formed an everlasting bond with her friends and her community. Her artistic flair was evident in all of her endeavors, from flower arranging and home design to the creation of family ceramic Christmas ornaments that will be cherished forever. She adored the color yellow, matched and coordinated her outfits with flair, and always had a kind word for all. Most of all, she lived to entertain (and feed!!) family and friends. Her light will be truly missed.
Angela was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Vincent J. Fasano, DDS and her son-in-law James McDermott. She is survived by her loving children Denise McDermott; Vincent and daughter-in-law Laura and Mark and her grandchildren Stacey, Tara, Bethany, Danielle, Nicole, Carina and Vinny; and great-granddaughter, Emily.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2019 with a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Scarsdale. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to Ability Beyond Development Department Day Program 4 Berkshire Blvd. Bethel, Ct. 06801. Include Fasano in Memo.
