To the Editor:

On behalf of the Town of Pelham and American Legion Post #50, we would like to invite all Pelham organizations, businesses and committees to join us on Monday, May 25 to participate in this year’s Memorial Day Parade and Ceremonies honoring those Pelham residents who gave their lives to defend our Country. We especially ask those members of our community who served in the Armed Forces at any time, whether from Pelham or anywhere else, to please join us in marching and attending the Memorial Services together at Veteran’s Park.

The parade will start at 11:30am from the Esplanade in front of The Manor Club at Black Street, proceed down Esplanade across Boston Post Road to Wolfs Lane. It will then turn north on Wolfs Lane to Fifth Avenue in Pelham to Veteran’s Park (next to Pelham Town Hall) where Memorial Ceremonies will take place at noon.

Joining us for this year’s parade will be Marines and Sailors from the USS San Antonio, the lead ship of her class of amphibious warfare ships designed to transport 800 Marines into a war zone by landing craft or helicopter.

If any group or individual has any questions, please contact Parade Coordinator Joe Durnin at pelmayor@aol.com or cell, 914 882-1425.

Anyone with a convertible who would like to participate in the parade and transport Veterans or other parade group members is also asked to contact Joe Durnin.

Respectfully,

Joseph E. Durnin

Parade Committee
