To the Editor:

I am always impressed by those who choose to run for local office. I admire the community service aspect of the roles they seek and I look to see what level of commitment they have illustrated to date.

I have known Neal Schwarzfeld for over 35 years and have found Neal to be passionate about his family and his community. He has taken leadership roles with The United Way, The Pelham Jewish Center, a myriad of Commissioner roles including Police and Fire Commissioner, and has served on the School Board. It is this ongoing and multi-faceted service that sets Neal Schwarzfeld up for success as Mayor of Pelham Manor, bringing continuity of purpose and bi-partisan philosophy to the role.

It is exciting to see candidates continuing to serve the community, building upon the experience they have acquired over time. Politics by design is divisive, but in Pelham it can elevate beyond party lines and we can come together to elect the most experienced, passionate and proven leadership available, allowing for a smooth transition and focus on the key issues at hand. That candidate is Neal Schwarzfeld.
