PMHS senior Kate Douglass recently competed at the Speedo Sectionals swim meet in Ithaca, NY and had several great races. Most notable was a new best time in the 50yard free—21.67 which moves her to #3 all-time in the 17-18 age group, behind only Olympians Simone Manuel and Abbey Weitzeil. That time would have earned her 8th place at the NCAA Championship a few weeks ago.

In addition to her 50 free, Kate won the 100 fly (51.76) and the 100 back (53.05). She also led off the winning 800 and 400 freestyle relays for CPAC, garnering new best times in her 200 free (1:45.15) and 100 free (47.98).

Kate will continue to train with Chelsea Piers Aquatic Club in Stamford, CT for the summer and plans to race at the National Championships in Palo Alto, CA in August, before she heads to the University of Virginia. The UVA women's swim team is coming off a stellar season, having recently finished 6th at the NCAA Championship.
