A conference on concussion for parents, coaches, school administrators, athletic trainers, healthcare professionals, and youth athletes, presented by Westchester County and Phelps Hospital Northwell Health is scheduled for Thursday, August 29 from 6:00 - 8:30 pm at Westchester County Center, 198 Central Ave, White Plains.

Spekers will be Dr. Rosanna Sabini, Medical Director, Northwell Concussion Program, Dr. John Leddy, Medical Director, University of Buffalo Concussion Management Clinic and Dr. Mark Herceg, Director, Concussion Assessment & Treatment Services, Phelps Hospital Northwell Health. Dr. Herceg is a neuropsychologist specializing in brain injury and concussion. Over the past 10 years, he has helped shape concussion management practices and increased concussion education in Westchester County in both youth and high school sports. He resides in Irvington.

The presentation is free.

Atendees will learn about:

• How to recognize signs and symptoms of concussions, what to watch for and help for navigating the process if your child is injured

• The important role of exercise and active rehabilitation post-injury

• The impact on Return to Learn AND Return to Sports
