The Pelham Community Rowing Association Boys team of Abe Eligator, Julian Callegari, Oliver Rayner, Gabe deLasa and coxswain Sophia Leun had another successful regatta, highlighted by winning the Gold Medal in the Boys U19 4+. Philly Youth.

In a competitive field of 42 boats, the U19 4+ put up a very fast time of 3:09 over 1000 meters and as able to hold off the boat from Fairmount on its way to victory. The PCRA team's ability to manage the race from start to finish has significantly improved this summer and the coach looks forward to transitioning this speed into fall racing and beyond. This was their second medal of the summer for the Boys team, with the first coming in the form of a Silver Medal at last month's Independence Day Regatta.

In other action, both the Boys U19 4x and U19 B 4+ fought hard and raced well all the way down the course, finishing 3rd in their respective heats. The Boys U19 8+ completed the day of racing for the team, running with the front of the pack for most of the race and finishing 6th overall in a field of 18.

The PCRA girls team continued its summer of strong showings with 4 of the 8 boats entered placing in the top three in their categories, collecting 4 medals along the way. PCRA's Girls Novice Quad consisting of Dana Shearer, Julia Ognibene, Klara Sweeney, and Emma Spencer came in 3rd in their event earning is first ever bronze medals. In the Girls U17 Quad athletes Molly Bidwell, Caroline Michailoff, Charlotte Pulkinnen, and Maya Spunberg earned a silver medal after finishing a tight race less than one second off of first place. Bidwell and Michailoff earned their second medals of the day in the Girls U17 Double coming in 3rd with teammates Spunberg and Pulkinnen close behind them in 5th place. Kathryn Alexander also earned herself a bronze medal as she raced in the Girls U19 single 500 meter dash where she battled against other athletes including her own double partner Jules Prisco.
