Town 9/11 Ceremony

Residents will gather at 8:30am today (Friday, Sept. 11) for the annual Town of Pelham 9/11 remembrance at the Memorial across  from the Pelham Gazebo on Harmon Avenue.

Members of the Village of Pelham Fire Department will oversee the ringing of a fire bell at 8:46am—the time of the terrorist attack on Sept. 11, 2001 on the World Trade Center in Manhattan. Members of the Pelham Manor Fire Department are also expected to participate.

The names of the 10 individuals with ties to the Pelhams who died in the terrorist attack will be read, they are: NY City Firefighter Lt. Joseph G. Leavey, Joseph P. Shea, Daniel J. Shea, Montgomery Hord, Thomas E. Hynes, Amy O’Doherty, Robert Scandole, Robert McLaughlin, Michael Tamuccio and Michael Boccardi.
