Assemblymember Amy Paulin wrote a letter to the NY State Department of Transportation urging that "alternative sites that would not be as visible from residential areas" should be investigated for a 120 ft cell tower now proposed for the Hutchinson River Parkway at Exit 7 in Pelham Manor.

Her letter also made these points:

•"Is there a demonstrable need for additional wireless coverage by State police or other first responders?"

• The proposal states the tower ould be for local government use. "However, it is clear from my conversation with the Mayor of the Village of Pelham Manor that the Village does not need, or wish, to have addiinal telecommunications equipment on NYSDOT land in the Village of Pelham Manor."
