Pelham Village Mayor Chance Mullen announced that the Westchester County Solid Waste Commission has again extended Waste Services, Inc.'s license to operate in Westchester. As a result, garbage and recycling services for the Village of Pelham will continue as scheduled through October 18, 2019.

"We continue to work diligently to try to ensure there will be no interruption in service as this issue winds its way through the courts," the mayor said in a statement. "Given legal sensitivities, we cannot comment further at this time, but more information will be shared when the circumstances permit. Thank you for your patience and understanding."

The Village of Pelham has a contract with Waste Services Inc. and its owner is involved in legal proceedings.
