It was announced earlier this year that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had agreed to a three-year, $150.8 million contract extension. A tattoo seems to have been his first big purchase, both literally and figuratively speaking.
On Wednesday, the 38-year-old NFL star took to Instagram to share a photo of “the [GOAT] himself” tattoo artist Balazs Bercsényi’s first tattoo on his body. Rodgers thanked him for his “mastery and friendship.”
As for the tattoo itself, it appears that Rodgers gave up valuable space on his forearm in order to get it. One of the new tattoos depicts an angry, calm, and subdued lion facing off against an expanse of water and celestial elements. In the middle of it all, there’s a squinting eyrie.

A deep and meaningful story and connection run through this artwork, according to Rodgers. There will be more about that later on, but for now, the tattoo and his friend’s artistry were all that mattered, so he just wanted to show them off.
