When it comes to the death of Naomi Judd

Ashley Judd, the country music icon’s daughter, revealed Naomi Judd died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Thursday morning.

“Good Morning America” host Diane Sawyer spoke to actress Ashley Judd, who discussed the death of her mother and their family’s reaction to it. She stated that she and her family wanted to control the flow of information regarding the death prior to the autopsy being completed.

In response to Ashley‘s statement, Sawyer inquired as to whether or not Ashley’s mother had ever utilized a weapon. Because of our reluctance to divulge such details, “we’re in a situation where someone else will do so,” she explained.

After her mother died, Ashley claimed she was asked by her family to speak out about Alzheimer’s illness in order to help other fans who may be suffering from the disease.

Our loved one and the sickness must be clearly distinguished when discussing mental illness,” she added. “When we’re talking about mental illness we must be explicit and make the distinction between our loved one and the disease,” she continued. In other words, “It’s brutal, and it lies.”

Her mother’s upcoming entry into the Country Music Hall of Fame didn’t help her deal with cancer, Ashley said.

Her daughter added, “Our mother couldn’t hold on till she was inducted by her peers.” In her mind, “it is the degree of tragedy since the barrier between the esteem in which they held her couldn’t permeate into her heart, and the lie the sickness told her was so persuasive.”

Ashley also detailed her mother’s final day

“It was a mixed day,” she reflected later. It was just another day of visiting with my mother and father in Tennessee, as I do every single day. “Of course, I’ll remain with you,” I replied when Mom asked if I wanted to stay with her. That’s when I found out she had a friend who was in town, so I went up there to check on her. When I discovered her, I felt both loss and trauma.”

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (800-273-8255) was another resource she recommended to her followers.

Ashley Judd and her sister, Wynonna, made a statement blaming their mother’s death on “the disease of mental illness” soon following her death.

According to the Associated Press, the statement said, “Today we sisters endured a tragedy.”. As a family, we are devastated by the loss of our mother to mental illness. We’ve been crushed under the weight of all that’s happened. Despite our deep sadness, we know that she was adored by her fans as well. The terrain we’re on is completely new to us.”

There was a heartbreaking induction ceremony into the Country Music Hall of Fame for Wynonna and Naomi’s mother-daughter duo The Judds the day after Naomi’s death.

“I didn’t prepare anything tonight because I knew mum would probably talk the most,” Wynonna said to the crowd at the induction. It’s going to be quick because my heart is torn and I’m so blessed,” she said. It’s a strange dynamic, being both broken and blessed at the same time… Since we sing, “I’ll keep singing even though my heart is destroyed.”
