Anfield Star Is ‘World-Class’ After Liverpool’s Victory Over Rangers at Ibrox

Commentator Jonathan Woodgate on BBC Radio 5 Live called Roberto Firmino and his assist for Rangers’ Darwin Nunez “world-class” as Liverpool rolled to a 7-1 Champions League win.

Rangers entered the match knowing that a victory was crucial to their hopes of playing in Europe after the holidays. When Scott Arfield slammed a shot past Alisson in the first half, they went up 1-0.

However, Liverpool made a strong comeback. As the score stood at 1-1 at halftime, Liverpool produced a masterclass in the second 45 minutes, with Firmino scoring twice to put the game out of reach. Later, he assisted Nunez in scoring his fourth goal for the Merseyside club.

After being played all the way through, it turns into a cute little flick in the style of Rabona, and Nunez handles the ending with aplomb. Liverpool won 7-1 thanks to a hat trick from Mo Salah in the first six minutes and an insurance goal from Harvey Elliott. The “world-class” Firmino has been praised by Woodgate.

To paraphrase, “You know when you talk about world-class? Wow, Roberto Firmino, that was a truly magical touch there. This helps tremendously. Similarly, Woodgate praised Darwin Nunez’s finish, saying, “Fair play to Darwin Nunez too, it’s a great finish,” according to BBC Live.

That was a stroke of brilliance. A scene that would cause even a lukewarm supporter to speak up. Liverpool fans will be aware of Firmino’s capabilities, and Rangers fans will have to admit defeat and say “fair enough.”

When most forwards are put through on goal like Firmino, but the ball is slightly behind them, they will frantically try to recover it. Certainly not Firmino. He’s aware that Nunez has a better angle on goal against the Ranger‘s defense.

So, I threw a little rabona into his path, and Liverpool won. After scoring against Arsenal last weekend, Nunez has scored twice in his last two games. Jurgen Klopp is stressed out about this weekend’s matchup with Manchester City.
