Jen Shah, A Member of The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” Has Admitted to Fraud

In connection with telemarketing, Jennifer Shah, the star of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” entered a plea of guilty on Monday. According to the Department of Justice, Shah, 48, may get a maximum term of 30 years in jail.
Shah entered a guilty plea to one count of conspiring to commit wire fraud using telemarketing, through which she harmed 10 or more people over the age of 55. Moreover, she consented to forfeit $6.5 million and make reparation payments of up to $9.5 million.

Shah and Others Are Accused of Running a Massive Telemarketing Scam that Duped Hundreds of People.

Shah is accused of participating in a large-scale telemarketing operation that defrauded hundreds of victims across the United States by pitching them phony “business services” in connection with their fictitious web firms.
Shah, who is located in Park City, Utah, started running a sales floor in Manhattan in 2017 to target victims on lead lists with downstream “business opportunity” products.

Jen Shah is charged with providing leads to other participants for their telemarketing efforts “with the knowledge that the individuals they had identified as ‘leads’ would be defrauded by the other Participants, including by lying to Victims about how much they would earn after purchasing the business services and the purported success of others who had purchased the services,” according to a news release from the DOJ.
