Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar was born in Manhattan on October 11, 1992, and grew up in The Bronx, New York City. She has seven siblings, the most well-known of whom is her sister Hennessy Carolina, and is the daughter of a Dominican father and a Trinidadian mother.
