According to an arrest warrant issued in Trouble’s death, the suspect shot the Atlanta rapper after finding him with his ex-girlfriend.

According to the warrant, the suspect, Jamichael Jones, punched his ex-girlfriend in the face both before shooting Trouble and once before, which caused their breakup.

The rapper, whose legal name is Mariel Semonte Orr, was shot and killed in the early hours of Sunday morning at the Lake St. James Apartments in Conyers. He was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office.

Jones, 32, turned himself in at 1 a.m. Tuesday on charges of home invasion, felony murder, and aggravated assault. He was later denied bond by a judge in Rockdale County Magistrate Court.

According to the arrest warrant obtained by 11Alive, deputies from the Rockdale Sheriff’s Office responded to the 911 call to find the ex-girlfriend with “visible injuries on her face consistent with being struck.”

She told deputies that she was sleeping in her bed with Trouble when she “awoke to her ex-boyfriend, Mr. Jamichael Jones, punching her in the face.”

According to the warrant, Jones and Trouble began fighting, and she attempted to assist the rapper before Jones “pulled out a handgun and shot Mr. Orr (Trouble) and fled the scene.”

The rapper was shot in the chest, according to the warrant

The woman told deputies that she and Jones had been dating for three years but had broken up a week before when he hit her during an argument about “him not having a job and not helping her pay the bills.”

In that case, she stated that she called 911 but did not file a police report because Jones fled the scene. He hadn’t been back to the house where they’d been living together in a week.

Deputies noted in the warrant that the apartment’s front door had been forced open and that they had surveillance footage of Jones arriving and leaving the apartment complex in his car.

Jones arrived and left in seven minutes, according to the warrant.

Mariel Semonté Orr was born on November 4, 1987, in Atlanta, Georgia. He began rapping at the age of 14. Trouble released his debut mixtape on December 17th in April 2011, which was ranked number 23 on Complex magazine’s The 25 Best Mixtapes of 2011.

The mixtape included the song “Bussin,'” which featured rappers Yo Gotti, Waka Flocka Flame, and Trae the Truth on the remix. Trouble was named one of Complex’s “15 New Rappers to Watch Out For” in August 2011. He was also named one of the “15 Atlanta Rappers You Should Know” by XXL magazine in 2013.
