Rock band Blink-182’s drummer Travis Landon Barker (born November 14, 1975) is an American. Additionally, he is a member of the rap rock group Transplants, established +44 and Box Car Racer, and later joined Antemasque and Goldfinger. He has collaborated often with hip-hop musicians. Barker and the late DJ AM developed TRV$DJAM, which was a collaboration. In Rolling Stone, he was described to as “punk’s first superstar drummer” and one of the 100 finest drummers ever.
At an early age, Barker, who was raised in Fontana, California, learned to drum. In 1996, he joined The Aquabats, but departed to join Blink-182 in 1998, which became a mainstream hit with Enema of the State (1999). A multi-genre drummer, Barker has played and produced in a wide range of bands, from hip hop to alternative rock to pop and country. He was also a part of the Meet the Barkers reality show on MTV. Give the Drummer Some is his first solo album and was released in 2011 after he survived an aircraft tragedy in 2008. In addition to his work with rappers like Yelawolf, Asher Roth, and Nottz, he has also collaborated with bands like Blink-182 and the Transplants on extended plays.
Early Childhood and Schooling
In Fontana on November 14, 1975, Travis Landon Barker was born. When he was younger, he was raised by Gloria (a babysitter) and Randy (a mechanic). Barker began playing the drums at the age of four. Additionally, Travis took trumpet and piano lessons as well as participated in the school choir.
Playing the drums, in his opinion, was the best method to communicate one’s thoughts and feelings. The death of Barker’s mother, who had Sjögren’s disease, occurred just before Barker was born. As a member of Fontana High School’s marching band and jazz ensemble, Travis was a self-described stoner.

The Aquabats were a ska-punk band that Barker joined in 1996 after playing in the bands Snot and Feeble with Feeble bandmate Chad Larson. When Blink-182’s drummer quit the band, Barker stepped in and became the band’s regular drummer in 1998. Travis released one album with the Aquabats and went on tour with the band. Blink-182’s debut album with Barker, “Enema of the State,” was released in June 1999, and the band soared to prominence, owing to the hits “All the Small Things,” “What’s My Age Again?” and “Adam’s Song.”
Travis missed numerous shows on the band’s arena tour in the autumn of 1999 because of a fractured finger. Barker has collaborated with Blink-182 on five additional albums: “Take Off Your Pants and Jacket,” “Blink-182,” “Neighborhoods,” “California,” and “Nine” were released in 2001, 2003, 2011, and 2016.
