Ime Sunday Udoka (/ime udok/ EE-may oo-DOH-k; born August 9, 1977) is the head coach of the NBA’s Boston Celtics and a former professional basketball player from Nigeria (NBA). During his time on the field, he competed for the Nigeria national team.
Udoka’s birthdate is August 9, 1977, and she was born in Portland, Oregon. As a high school student, he studied at Jefferson in Portland.

Suspended
MassLive was told by a league source on Wednesday night that Ime Udoka may be suspended to start the regular season.
Athletics reporter Shams Charania tweeted, “Celtics coach Ime Udoka had an inappropriate, personal, and consensual relationship with a female member of the team staff…” There has been a violation of the team’s code of conduct because of this. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com was the first to announce that Udoka was in danger of being suspended from the squad for what Wojnarowski termed a “specific infraction of organizational guidelines.”
Career
Udoka’s professional basketball career kicked off with the Charleston Lowgators, who selected him with the 39th overall pick in 2002’s NBDL Draft. On January 14, 2004, he was called up to play with the Los Angeles Lakers, but he was eventually dismissed. He spent some time abroad, then came back to the United States to draught in NBDL.
Fort Worth Flyers picked him up in the third round of the 2005 NBDL Draft. With the Flyers, he put up 17.1 points and 6.2 boards a contest on average. The New York Knicks officially signed Udoka on April 6, 2006. On September 11, 2006, the Knicks waived Udoka.
After Aaron Miles failed a physical and was cut from the Portland Trail Blazers 2006-07 training camp roster, Udoka was invited to join the team in his hometown. Udoka made the team thanks to his impressive defensive play even though he had to deal with the loss of his father during the preseason.
Udoka started all 75 of his games in 2006–07 despite having only 12 career NBA appearances prior to that. He averaged 8.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.9 steals in 28.6 minutes per game.
The Spurs of San Antonio (2012–2019)
Udoka began working as an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs under Gregg Popovich in August of 2012. Udoka’s Spurs team would go on to win the 2014 NBA Finals 4-1, giving Udoka the opportunity to earn his first championship.
Udoka also played a significant role in LaMarcus Aldridge’s 2015 choice to sign with the Spurs. Udoka and Aldridge were teammates on the Trail Blazers in Aldridge’s first year in the league.
