After seeing g.o.d perform when he was seven years old, Lim Jae-beom developed the desire to become a singer. He was born in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, and raised in Goyang. After failing a school test in his third year of middle school, he began b-boying, using the stage name Defsoul and drawing inspiration from Musiq Soulchild’s “Just Friends” music video.
He was discovered by JYP Entertainment at a b-boy competition in 2009; his father persuaded him to go to the audition, and he eventually did, winning first place with Jinyoung over 10,000 applicants. As a b-boy, he developed an interest in musical composition and hip-hop culture, but at the start of his idol training, he believed that learning to sing was pointless and focused only on dancing; however, after learning to sing, he realized that singing had a deeper meaning.

She is two years older than Jay B, a 94-liner, and has worked as a special makeup artist and beauty YouTuber. Kim Do Hyun, popularly known for her stage moniker Pure.D, was born in 1992. She worked as an art director in multiple movies and dramas and is showcasing videos of diverse content, including daily makeup, concept-specific makeup, and special makeup, on Pure.D.
