IRS Will Launch Pilot Program of Free Filing System to Make Tax Filing Easier and Affordable for Eligible Taxpayers
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will launch a pilot program called the Direct File program introducing a free filing system to make tax filing easier and affordable for eligible taxpayers starting next year.
The IRS pilot program will aim to address the increasing cost of taxes and the slow process of tax filing, wherein filing of taxes reportedly finished up to 8 hours for one single filing that cost an average of $140.
According to The Hill, the agency believed that taxpayers deserve to be entitled to free filing taxes, and launching the pilot program will be a great bridge to reach their goals as it will ensure affordable, accessible, and fast transactions of tax filing.
