Youth Mental Health Crisis Continues to Affect Young People Suffering from Stress, Depression, and Other Mental Health Problems
The youth mental health crisis continued to affect young people suffering from various mental health problems, including stress and depression, wherein the youth mental health crisis had already been declared a national emergency following the increasing cases in young people.
According to a report published in US News, the youth mental health crisis has grown more during and after the pandemic across the country as the number of young people suffering from mental and behavioral changes increases, even suicide cases due to the youth mental health crisis.
With the youth mental health crisis, several young people have been prone to experiencing severe mental health conditions or mental health illnesses, such as schizophrenia, due to their brains still in the process of developing and growing, which tends to affect their thinking and emotions, leading to the youth mental health crisis.
Advocates Urge Leaders to Provide Sufficient Support to Address Youth Mental Health Crisis
Following the increasing mental health issues in young people, several advocates urged leaders to provide sufficient support to address the youth mental health crisis by allocating enough budget and funding for mental health programs and activities.
Advocates also claimed that there should be enough numbers of mental health professionals available to directly help young people express their thoughts and emotions as part of the fight against the youth mental health crisis, Education Week reported.
