Major Career Earnings And Wealth Sources
Rap music is the primary source of revenue for Mystikal. There are numerous commercials and advertising campaigns that contribute to his enormous income, too. According to the rapper’s Wikipedia page, his fortune was diminished in 2017 when he turned himself into the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Department after submitting a notice of his incarceration.
Mystikal was then accused of sexual assault and incarcerated at Caddo Correctional Center. On February 14, 2019, he was released from custody after posting a $3 million bail bond. In addition to his work as a rapper, he also acted in the 2003 film 13 Dead Men. At a Treme Center festival, Let’s Get Ready opened for Run-DMC and Doug E. Fresh.
A conviction for sexual battery and incarceration
In 2003, Mystikal was charged with sexual battery and extortion. His term of six years in prison began in early 2004 when he pleaded guilty to the charges of assault and coercion against his hairstylist. Also, Vercy Carter and Leland Ellis, two of his bodyguards, entered pleas of no contest to the same charges. Before this incident, Mystikal had been arrested for drug and gun possession twice before.
In the summer of 2005, while still incarcerated, Mystikal was charged with two misdemeanor counts of failing to file tax returns for the years 1998 and 1999, respectively. Convicted in federal court, however, he was allowed to concurrently serve his one-year federal term and six-year state sentence.
In January 2006, Mystikal was denied parole; one year later, he was released from federal prison on the federal tax charges but remained in prison on the state felony convictions in his home state of Louisiana. Mystikal was freed from prison in January 2010 and put on the sex offender registry.
