The Judds, a mother-daughter musical combo, formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1979 after the Judds relocated there. The Judds had 23 Billboard Hot Country Singles chart hits between 1983 and 1991, including 14 number ones.

They also recorded eight studio albums, a Christmas album, and two greatest hits compilations. Over the course of their six-year career, The Judds sold over 20 million records worldwide and garnered more than 60 industry honors, including five Grammy nominations, nine County Music Association awards (seven of which were consecutive), and eight Billboard Music Awards.

In 1996, Judd married Arch Kelly III, the son of Arch Kelly II. Elijah Judd was born in December 1994 to the couple. During this period, she had a baby “out of wedlock,” which hampered her career because her fans were traditional. D.R. Roach, whom she married in November 2003, was her second spouse.

In 2007, Roach was accused of sexually assaulting a minor under the age of 13 years old. It was just five days after she filed for divorce that she got the divorce papers. Cactus Moser, the drummer for Highway 101, married Judd on June 10, 2012, at her home in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee. Two months later, Moser was severely injured in a motorbike accident in South Dakota, and his left leg had to be amputated.



For her devotion to the US military, she was awarded the USO’s Merit Award in 2005, and she teamed with Habitat for Humanity to record “Heart of America” with Michael McDonald and Eric Benét.

On the Music City Walk of Fame, Wynonna was given a star in 2007. This year, Wynonna was added to the list of The Judds inductees for the Country Music Hall of Fame for the year 2021.
