Tami Roman Has Been Candid About Her Experiences with Body Dysmorphic Disorder
In late 2021, Tami revealed the origins of her eating condition on The Real. When Tami was 13, she went to a modeling agency in New York City, and from there, everything changed. As one of the stars of Basketball Wives put it, “So many people don’t know it’s either hereditary or genetic or comes from a horrible event where your self-image has been obliterated.”
As for Tami, it was the latter that led to the development of her body dysmorphic disorder. Once, a modeling agent had Tami stand in front of a mirror and tell her, “You have some folds in your back. Your knees are swollen because of your excess fat. Chin exercises are a need. Your bust is drooping.'”
And that night when I got home, every time I looked in the mirror I saw something wrong with myself,” Tami said. Due to the traumatic experience, Tami started doing extraordinary things to maintain her weight.

It was proposed that the group, along with other African-American girl groups, record a cover of R&B singer Joi’s song “Freedom” for the Panther movie’s soundtrack album.
R&B female groups En Vogue, SWV, TLC, For Real, Xscape, Brownstone, Y? N-Vee, and Changing Faces all contributed to the song.
Numerous female solo musicians and female rap artists of African American descent were featured in this song.
