For some reason, it never ceases to fascinate and even endear me when an obscure film that was overlooked upon its initial release suddenly becomes one of Netflix’s top ten American films. We’ve seen this before, with The Call and Disappearance at Clifton Hill both making it to the top of the box office recently, and now Backtrace, a relatively unknown 2018 thriller starring Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone, is also making it to the top this week. Take a look at Netflix(opens on a new laptop )’s 10 movies and TV shows for Monday, June 27, 2022.
Nine of The Most Popular Films to Stream on Netflix in The United States as Of June 27, 2022
We still have The Man from Toronto, Sing 2, and The Mist occupying the top three spots on Netflix’s Top 10 Movies list today, which is a testament to how popular these films have become. Nevertheless, Backtrace, starring Stranger Things’ Matthew Modine, has dethroned the new international romance film Love & Gelato to take fourth place.
There are a few other Netflix originals that have dropped a spot: Hustle with Adam, Spiderhead with Chris Hemsworth, Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness, and Halftime with J. Lo, but they remain in the bottom three from yesterday… for now.

Netflix’s Top Ten Us Tv Shows for The Week Ending June 27th, 2022
On Netflix’s Top 10 TV Shows in the United States, The UnXplained – a History Channel docuseries about unusual phenomena hosted by William Shatner – is now in fourth place, just behind the likes of The Umbrella Academy, Stranger Things, and Snowflake Mountain. All American, CW’s popular coming-of-age sports drama, is down a few spots from yesterday, while Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey, a true-crime docuseries, has taken the bottom spot, as Legacies, legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer, and international crime thriller Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area have not budged since yesterday.
However, Grey’s Anatomy, the long-running medical drama, has just premiered its 18th season on Netflix.

The Man from Toronto Could Make a Cameo Appearance.
Woody Harrelson, who starred in The Man from Toronto, has a good chance of making the Top 10 Movies list twice this week after the release of Natural Born Killers, a controversial crime drama.
Cristela Alonzo’s new stand-up special, Middle Classy, premieres tomorrow, so we’ll keep an eye out to see if it makes the Top 10 TV Shows list as well. If Netflix subscribers decide to go in different directions with their streaming options, we will continue to deliver the report to you every day.
