A death row inmate awaiting trial on sexual assault, kidnapping, and murder charges in the fatal shooting last year in Nevada was found dead in his jail death row inmate cell where he killed himself, said the local sheriff.

Troy Driver is a death row inmate awaiting trial

Troy Driver, a 42-year-old death row inmate, was impassive when a deputy jail officer found him in his cell at about 6:00 p.m. last Sunday and summoned other officers to help revive the Death row inmate, said Lyon County Sheriff Brad Pope.

Nevada investigators will investigate the death of a death row inmate. No other information will be released to the public until the investigation of death row inmate is complete.

The Death Row Inmate was accused of killing Naomi Irion, 18, before throwing away her body in a desert area after kidnapping her from a Walmart parking lot in Fernley on March 12, 2022.

The Death Row Inmate was facing the death penalty if found guilty

The Death Row Inmate had pleaded not guilty to all charges against him. His trial is set for September.

Prosecutors said the death row inmate shot her in the head near where her body was found in Fernley. In addition to first-degree murder, the death row inmate faced six additional charges like robbery, sexual assault, and destroying evidence.
