There was discussion about some well-known personalities on campus before “Natasha Obama” was listed as one among the thousands of graduates from USC’s Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences on Friday morning.
Social media users shared pictures of her parents, the 44th president and previous first lady, seated beside cap-and-gown-clad students at the event at Allyson Felix Field, while those in attendance messaged friends at different universities about the famous guests.
Sasha’s parents, Barack and Michelle, and elder sister Malia finished up sitting right next to Kim Demu, but there were over a dozen U.S. Secret Service officials around them. She took numerous pictures though since she was so happy to have seen the family she had long admired.
I was aware that Sasha Obama had gone from the University of Michigan to here, but I was unaware that my niece would also be graduating in this class, Demu remarked. It was “extremely amazing.”
