After moving to New York City, Stine began writing for Scholastic school magazines, and he went on to write a number of children’s joke and humor books under the name Jovial Bob Stine after moving to New York City. “Bananas” ran from 1975 to 1984, and he was the magazine’s editor and a significant portion of its writing staff.
First came “Blind Date,” followed by “The New Girl,” and now there are more than 100 books in the “Fear Street” series written by R.L. Stine, who started the series in 1987 with “The New Girl.” ‘Eureeka’s Castle,’ which aired on Nickelodeon from 1989 to 1995, was co-created by him and he served as the show’s head writer.
