Conceived as a journalist at the University of Pennsylvania, Cummings moved to Los Angeles after graduation to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. She began her standup career in 2004 and has appeared on Chelsea Lately on a regular basis since then. The pandemic brought Whitney Cummings and Alex Barnes together
In the midst of the pandemic, Alex Barnes – a veterinarian – became Cummings’ new love interest. LIVE with Kelly and Ryan asked the comedian to talk about how she met her current boyfriend in their August 2021 interview.
At the beginning of the pandemic, she mentioned that it happened. Her foster dog attacked another of her dogs, which resulted in the small dog’s eye being ripped out of its socket. She was rushed to a veterinarian as soon as she realized what had happened.
However, because it was the beginning of the pandemic, people were terrified of it. A few veterinarians’ offices turned her away, and “no one was interested in helping me with his bleeding dog,” so she went to a neighbor’s house.

Whitney Cummings Ex-Fiance
When Whitney Cummings met Miles Skinner, a Creative Director and Media Strategist, online in early 2017, she began a relationship with him. After dating for over a year, Miles proposed to the comedian on her birthday in September of last year. Whitney announced her engagement by writing, “Today I got engaged. It was no problem for me at all! You too can find love on a dating app if you work on yourself, believe in yourself, and keep your ego in check.”
Whitney and Miles called off their engagement in early 2020 and announced that they were ending their relationship for good. In this February 2020 Good For You podcast, Whitney explained, “I am not wearing an engagement ring. My relationship with you has come to an end. Nothing naughty, nothing tense. Nobody will believe me if I tell you this, but I was completely unprepared to plan a wedding, and the entire process completely overwhelmed me.”
Her mother’s stroke-related ill health made all of the wedding preparations too much for her to handle, she added. “My mother’s health is in jeopardy.” The thought of planning made me feel overwhelmed and a little sad. According to the comedian, wedding planning “should not be a complete downer.”
