Millions of UK households are entitled to the £650 Cost of Living Allowance, and the DWP has confirmed when the second half will arrive.
Cost of living payments is given automatically to those on Income-Based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support, Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit, and Universal Credit.
The DOL has certified that most £324 Cost of Living payments have been sent. The government has given £2.3 billion to people eligible in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland since last Tuesday.
The DWP urges those who haven’t received the benefit to “not be alarmed” because some payments may not arrive until November 23.
Anyone who hasn’t received the payment by this date can report it missing,’ and the organization can review claims to “guarantee pending payments reach those eligible as swiftly as possible.”
Not yet Received Payment?
If you’re in the 1% of eligible people currently waiting for the second half of the cost of living payment, don’t worry, says the DWP. It may take until November 23 to process some payments.
If you’re still waiting beyond that date, report the missing payment as soon as possible. The government has identified a few circumstances where automated payments are not possible, such as when Universal Credit payments are shared between a couple.
In these cases, a team of agents is working through them manually. If you receive tax credits plus a cost-of-living payment, it’s due between Nov. 23 and 30.
